A designated premises supervisor (DPS) is the person who has day-to-day responsibility for a business that has a premises license to sell alcohol. They are the person who authorises the sale of alcohol on the premises.
To legally sell or supply alcohol, a business must have a designated premises supervisor. Only a premises licence holder can apply to change a DPS.
What does the process involve?
Obtaining consent from the current premises licence holder to transfer the licence.
Completing all necessary application forms and submitting them to your local council on your behalf, including payment of the £23 fee.
Liaising with and sending a copy of your application to the local Police and Home Office Immigration Services.
